Kindergarten and Early Childhood Screening
The Lathrop R-II School District annual Early Childhood and Kindergarten Screening is scheduled for April 4 through April 6 at the First Baptist Church in Lathrop. Screenings will be held from 12-8 pm on Tuesday, April 4th and Thursday, April 6th. On Wednesday, April 5th the screening will be held from 8 to 4 pm. Click on the title for more information. Meet the School Board Candidates
The Lathrop R-II School District will be hosting a Meet the Candidate night on Tuesday, March 21st in the Middle School Performing Arts Center at 7:00 pm. We will ask each of the candidates a few questions and take some questions from those in attendance. James P. Martin, Homer John Moore IV, Darrell D. Morgan Jr., Andy Noll, Denise Paden, and Jeff Wright are running for 3 open school board positions. Come to our meeting and get informed on the candidates before you vote on April 4th!
We also will have a special board meeting prior to this event at 6:30 pm to approve some construction projects for this summer.
Storm Relief Aid and Information
We have had many people and organizations offer to help but we don't really know who needs it so we created this web page to help organize the relief effort. If you know of something to add to the page please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 528-7500.
Individuals and groups such as the UAW Ford Community Service Crew are available to help individuals with their clean-up efforts. If you need some help cleaning up from the storm please click on this link to fill out a survey to get your name on the list:

The Red Cross is setting up a Multi-Agency Response Center (MARC) in Smithville on Sunday. They can provide anyone affected by the storm with information on services that might be available. Click here

The Duracell Disaster Relief Truck stopped by City Hall and donated boxes of batteries to be given to anyone who needs them. AAA, AA, 9v, and D's. Come and get them while supplies last!

2017 Spelling Bee Results
Lathrop R-II students in grades 5-8 recently competed in grade level Spelling Bees. The top three students in each grade earn the right to move on to the County Spelling Bee to be held in Plattburg on February 8th. The grade level Champions were: 5th Grader Hannah Michaud, 6th Grader Toby Daley, 7th Grader Brianna Lily and 8th Grader David Vogan. The Little Mule Trail
Have you been wondering what the school is doing behind the Elementary? The Lathrop Garden Club has begun a project that the Elementary students have named "The Little Mule Trail" . For Sale: One "Hammer Jammer" for $100. A Hammer Jammer is a piece of weightroom equipment. Very popular with football programs a few years back.
For Sale: Dell Optiplex 755 with 2 GB RAM, no Hard drive or operating system. Built approximately 2008. Core 2 duo, 2.66 GHz (give or take). These are $10 each. You could buy a hard drive for less than $50, and we know of someone who would install it for around $20. So for less than $100 you would have a good machine.

In the past two years we've had ACT scores over 30, Academic All-State Softball Players, All-State Football Players, State Wrestling Champions, State FFA Degree winners, Poetry Out Loud state contest qualifiers, National Forensics Tournament Qualifiers, State Solo and Ensemble qualifiers, a Superior Band Rating, an Excellent Vocal Music Rating, State FFA Degree winners, Trap Shooting Champions and the list goes on.
